Baby Kitty (or Chumpy, as my brother named him) died this afternoon.
I wasn't home. I was out to get my much-needed massage. My brother was home though. Chumpy had been active lately, he liked to walk around and play. And we thought he wouldn't go outside the gate since he tended to go inside the house instead. It wasn't even 30 mins since I left home while Chumpy was walking around the frontyard when my brother texted me, telling that Chumpy died.
I was like, I dunno. I think It didn't dawn on me immediatly because it hadn't been long since I saw Chumpy alive and kicking.
My brother said he was bitten by my neighbor's big bad doggy. My neighbor tried to stop the dog when it suddenly ran towards chumpy, but it was too late. By the time the granny managed to hit the dog to let Chumpy go and brought him to my brother, Chumpy was already dead. My bro said there was a lot of blood.
By the time I got home, my brother had already buried him in an empty lot nearby.
Chumpy hadn't been that long with us, and I didn't get to see him that much due to work, but still, it hurt. I could only imagine how my brother might feel. He had been the one taking care of Chumpy all this time, and he was the one at home when it happened.
I kind of blame myself for letting Chumpy in the garden instead of putting him inside with my brother even though the front door was open. I think my brother also feels guilty deep down.
...anyway. Yeah, I actually planned to post more pics on Chumpy next week, but now, I still can't bring myself to go over the many pics of Chumpy.
Oh well, that's it for now. I have a workload to do. So much for a fun weekend.

Date: 2010-07-18 12:40 pm (UTC)As I was leaving home in the morning to pick up a friend of mine from the train station three years back, I've seen my cat outside and called him to come back home, but he didn't want to. So I ignored him and left.
An hour later, when I was going back, I noticed a dead animal on the street, and because I'm not right in the head and get fascinated by such things, I went to look at him just out of curiousity. Then the friend I picked up joked by saying "what if it's your cat?" I only laughed, but then I noticed his fur patterns, and realization hit me hard (he was missing his head, so I had trouble regonizing him at first...) So yeah, I was all "...oh, holy shit. o_o" and had a hard time believing the sight before me.
And yeah, the regret is there, because we feel that things would go different if only we could get our kitties to stay home. But none of us could forsee something like this happening, so I guess we shouldn't blame ourselves, even if it's hard.
This probably won't make you feel any better, but yeah... Try not to dwell on it too much. And be glad that your kitty didn't leave you on the day before your birthday (like mine did. xD)
*huggles you* ; - ;

Date: 2010-07-18 01:35 pm (UTC)I'm so sorry to hear that, sis. I'm not a cat-lover, but I've grown to love cats because of my sisters' influence... I can't imagine what is it like for you--who is a natural cat lover--must be feeling.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll get better soon. Heart takes time to heal, afterall.

Date: 2010-07-22 04:26 am (UTC)Oh, what did you do to your fish? :O

Date: 2010-07-23 12:34 am (UTC)I accidentally turned the heat on, and haven't noticed it. I rarely check how's the fish, so it was on till my mother came home from the countryside a couple of days later. the temperature in the aquarium was already about 30 degrees C and I guess the fish can't live in such a hot water D: I didn't mean it, but still it was my fault T__T I killed poor little fishies who haven't done anything bad in their life :(

Date: 2010-07-23 09:40 am (UTC)I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope the fishes died peacefully somehow :( *hugs*

Date: 2010-07-18 10:17 pm (UTC)it might just be me, but that dog... isn't its behaviour off if it randomly attacks a cat? Shouldn't the owner be keeping it on a tighter leash than... or am I just horribly misinterpreting?
no subject
Date: 2010-07-19 10:32 am (UTC)As for the dog.. well it's certainly not the first time it killed my kitty :( I dunno, the owner is an old lady, and she said the dog is always like that. I mean, he attacks kittens not grown cats. Hmm. >___>;;

Date: 2010-07-19 12:50 am (UTC)Seriously. I've got a soft spot for dogs after that one year living with them, but cats are still my favorite. And the mere thought of a small cat like Chumpy--she's barely as big a Affa's foot!!--being bitten by the dog... TT-TT
Not cool, doggie.... ;A;

Date: 2010-07-19 05:51 am (UTC)congratulations on your fanfics!
Sorry about Chumpy, and you had him for too short a time. He and your other cats are cute. The death wasn't your fault. Cats need to go outside at times, and since Chumpy tended to go inside the house after walking around, you wouldn't be expecting him to go outside. It's hard to lose a pet, especially when you've had it for only a few days. The same thing has happened with some of my past hamsters.
I did the wallpaper and author memes, too.
Sorry about your eyes, back, and workload. I have a similar situation at my new part-time job. I have to search for information on the internet and put them together. It hurts my eyes.
You can unlock a bathroom with a spoon? It sounds like Office Boy and Flirty Boy do not get along. I'm thinking it's more than just that "come hither" thing. Wouldn't Flirty Boy wonder why the door was unlocked when he locked it? From what happened with Office Boy, it sounds like Flirty Boy is terrible. Then again, I myself don't like flirts in the first place.

Thanks! I'm glad you thought the icons were cute, and that you liked the e-card. I tried to send you a Perfect Pair one. You are free to snag any of the icons.
Thanks for the graphics program information! I don't even have a pen tablet. To tell the truth, I don't know much about them, but they seem easier to use if it's similar to drawing by hand on paper. I have Adobe ImageReady 3.0. I'm not sure if it's able to make animated images since it's out-of-date. I'm still using Adobe Photoshop 6.0, which came with my previous computer. I just can't afford to buy the more updated programs.
Some things need to be demonstrated to be clear. Art is one of them.
Some people just like attention.

Date: 2010-07-19 06:20 am (UTC)Does that dog always do something like it? I just hope that dog will never do it ever again so there will be no other kitties (or puppies) would have to go through the same tragedy as Chumpy.

Date: 2010-07-19 10:39 am (UTC)and to say cruel, I dunno, do dogs know that it's a cruel thing to do :(
And the doggie killed my kitty once before too. He was slightly bigger than Chumpy but still a Kitty.

Date: 2010-07-20 02:53 am (UTC)but just...I don't know what to say. We've had something similar happen before in our neighborhood (we had lots of stray cats at one time or another...until people started complaining) and just...god x.x I'm an animal lover in general, and even though I've never had a cat before *can't--dad and sis are allergic*
Just...at least you gave Chumpy a nice place to live, and loved him while he was here.
and as silly as it may sound...this journal entry made me go and purposefully buy a white kitty penny-bank at a gift shop at the amusement park. It even had a little bell on it
*hugs*

Sorry for the rambling ^^; Thanks for your concern :) *snugs*
And for some reason it made me smile that you bought a white kitty oenny-bank after reading this :)

Date: 2010-07-22 05:03 am (UTC)So then the third dog is now alive and well, I suppose? :)
I have had, countless cats came and went. Sometimes they stay for a long time before disappearing, other times, they just came and died after a few weeks >__>;;
The longest cat I've had was with me for about five years, then he disappeared never to return. I suspected he went to die omewhere because when he was with us, we take him change houses three times and he could always find his way home, so yeah. My current official cat, I hope he could stay for a long time with us too :)
And yeah, I guess you right, at least I did what I could when they werwe with me ^^
Yes really, and yes I saw the pic :D
