Hello dearies~

Lately, I really don't have the drive to write, so I direct my energy into something else... namely, icon-making. As I said before, I just got to learn on how to make icons that is more than just cropping artwork ne? XD;;

This is my practice batch, actually, so forgive the amateur-ish touch. But some of them turned out quite nicely, so I thought I'd share. I mainly post these just to know what people would think of them actually XD;;

Your icons are nice. At least they turned out better than mine. I often have trouble capturing, because I can't keep my hands steady. It's not easy to follow the lines with a mouse. I like your designs and use of colors and effects. I don't even know how to make animated icons.

Sorry I couldn't send you any gift for your birthday. I don't know your address or have the money to send it across the Pacific Ocean.

I used a many layers and patterns 'till I could get the colors I want xD;
As for capturing, I usually zoom it many, many times to make it easier to follow the lines. Then again, I'm using a pen tablet instead of a mouse, which is easier to handle ^^;
For making animated icons, you need at least two images for one icon. For example, to make a blinking icon, make two images, the dim one and the bright one. Save them in one folder, then open adobe image ready. Choose the option import -> folder as frame. Then you will only need to adjust a few things like the delay between the changing images, and then choose 'save optimize as' to make the .gif file :)

Uh.. I hope that helps a little. It's easier to teach someone when they can see what I'm doing instead of putting it into words ^^;

Nice Ai-chan! I love 001, 018 and 030 the most.
Especially 001 (of course, it's TeFu xD), it looks so warm, so sweet and so cute! (btw, how was the original art of 001 look like? I've never seen this pic before...^^;)
And 030 too, the color is perfect, as well as the font.

#001 is from a doujin called 'Mellow'. The original art has them sitting (perhaps on the grounds) but there's no background, just white :D
and as for #030, I didn't do much to it actually, just a bit of texture xD;
the original art already has nice colors :D

My most favorite is #06 xDDDD,
The kkm icons are cute but personally, I find them a bit blurry. The textures are on the way a bit. I'd prefer them to stand out more :D.
