the loads of us that do consider it to be extremely challenging. Everyone's take on a character is different, and if anything it only adds to the deepness of that character. <--THIS is what makes fanfics interesting, right? The different takes on a character.
Anyway, I also agree on everything you say. Seriously, people shouldn't just look down on fanfics just because they use existing characters and settings. On the contrary, THERE is where the challenge lies D:
